Daily Journal Continued October31,1998, By-William Thomas Thompson Halloween,The devils day and night to celebrate Satan's all. Here I am in the drug part of town that I may have been meant to see and feel the need for God's protectinghand and appreciate His presence with me all the time. I checked the rate for a room here and was quoted $59.95,thinking that was a fair price,I started to check in but something checked my spirit saying to sit in the lo-bby and think for a few minutes. The first thing I thought of was a tourist travel book I had in my car of hotel discounts. Sure as could be,I got it out and looked under Orlando and there this was clear,a coupon for$39.95. I did not know then I would be here for 3 nights or just when I would get my car fixed. I called home and arranged for money to be wired to me and I called Joey asking him to pick up my car but he ask me to try and drive it back to their shop. I went one block to McDonalds for breakfast and there was a WesternUnion Store there next door. It all seemed too easy. I got my car back running now only in low gear and Joey returned me via the WesternUnion to my hotel in his hotrod,still the WesternUnion had not opened. I had to extend my stay even though Joey promised to have my car ready by 2pm. When I returned to pick up the money I got a big surprise that WesternUnion took$75.00 of it for their fee. I am now living like the streetpeople and feeling their pain of being robbed by those that have power and take the advantage. I am always afraid on halloween night and want to be home to pro-tect my family from the evils that roam the streets. Halloween is an old tradition starting back maybe in the first century. In the liturgy church year preceding the AllSaintsDay,a holiday for most of the LatinWorld,like MardiGras is to Lent,halloween is to those that remember the Christian dead. Halloween has become secondonly to Christmas in terms of retail sales. Like the tradition of stag party to a groom the night before his marriage. Go out and commit all the evil acts you want before being good but wear amask so as not to disgrace the religion. Halloween is now a religion and the devilspeople have adopted it and we all go along with it,it is so out of hand. Although the trick or treat idea may have started in America a century or two ago,the concept is veryold,you give me a treat or I will give you a trick or hurt you in someway. The some for nothing theory started away backin Samson's day of the OldTe- stament by the Philistines sons of Ham who by nature claimed that which was not theirs,contenders of and disposers of Israel,their wells,their heritage and their land much like our government does today. These people coveted the ark of Israel which is the symbol of Gods blessing and presence. The Jews today claim in this way. Protect us Dear Lord and may our lives reveal thy willandway. As Joey promised,my car was ready by 2pm and I got a ride out to their shop at Apopka and paid him the money and drove my car back to the hotel and later I drove out to see my friend in Kissimmee. I took the Florida turnpike to highway 192 and exited to paytoll. My car spun then engaged togo but slipped,I drove in the Kmart to buy transmission fluid and they put it in for me,I drove it to a Mobil Oil Change place and they checked it and the main seal was leaking,I took a taxi to my friends place but he was alreadygone.
